2022 Airstream Basecamp
Basecamp 20X is an outdoor adventurist’s dream. It’s rugged enough to get you as far off the beaten path as you want to go and comfortable enough to keep you there for as long as you want to stay. Economically designed to meet all your getaway needs, Basecamp is equipped with high-end features, an on-board restroom, and living space that converts to beds. So whether you’re camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, or all of the above, Basecamp is ready to turn your next fun adventure into the best one yet.
With this "X-Package" Basecamp model you can get even further off the beaten path – all while enjoying the comforts of home. The Basecamp X-Package adds features and accessories that increase departure angle and durability for more all-terrain use including:
• Goodyear® All-Terrain Tires
• Lift kit that provides three extra inches of clearance
• Solar front window protection
• Stainless steel rock guards
And with a base weight of just 2,585 pounds and maximum trailer capacity (Gvwr) of 3,500 pounds, Basecamp is towable with a variety of small and mid-sized SUVs and Crossovers. Equipped with every necessity and many luxuries in one organized, uncomplicated design package, the nimble Basecamp makes remote locations even more accessible. So go ahead: Set your GPS, load your gear and hit the road. It’s just that easy! What's includedFull Wet Bath - The bathroom houses the shower, sink and toilet all in the same waterproof area.Air Conditioning - When you’re setting up camp somewhere hot, the optional air conditioning with two- speed fan will keep you cool.Furnace & Hot Water - When you’re surrounded by snow, get efficient cabin heating and hot water without hesitation.12V Tank Heaters - Tank heaters help keep the tanks from freezing in colder conditions when you’re not running the furnace. Turn on the furnace and you can turn the tank heaters off. It’s a great power-saving combo for off-the-grid-camping.Marine Fabric - Basecamp seating is covered in antibacterial, mildew-resistant, stain- resistant, and flame-retardant fabric for lasting durability.Room for Friends - Seats spanning the front lounge's panoramic windows and the two benches flanking the rear hatch door make room for people to lounge, eat, and hang out – as perfect for camping with friends as it is for tailgating.RecommendationsThe Basecamp will be provided as a clean slate for your outfitting. So feel free to make yourselves at home with your favorite camp furnishings. Surely you already have a checklist going but we like suggesting the following essentials, in no particular order: Sleeping bags or bedding, pillows, towels, cookware and cooking utensils, plateware, cups and flatware (disposables will save on your water supply from not having to wash dishes other than your cookware), sponge and dish soap, paper towels, pantry items, refrigerated and frozen foods, your favorite spices and seasonings, French press or pour-over brewer for coffee and plenty of water. For outside festivities we recommend camp chairs, a camp mat, collapsable tables, firewood (most parks now require fires within fire vessels such as a Solo Stove) and don't forget roasting sticks for smores!Other things to noteIf you're boon docking, we would just need to know if you would like the water tank filled prior to your pick-up or if you would like to fill the water once you get closer to your destination to avoid hauling the extra weight. The air-conditioning requires 120-Volt service from either hook-ups or a generator but the heater can be run from the onboard propane. If the climate of your destination is moderate and doesn't require AC, the trailer quickly equalizes to the outside air temp when opening the windows for cross ventilation and the rooftop ceiling vent fan operates on battery power which quickly evacuates the heat as well. Should you require AC while boondocking and do not have access to a generator, we can provide one at an additional cost. The solar panels provide enough juice to keep the batteries topped off to continuously run the refrigerator, lights and other components but by Airstream's design there's just not enough to power the AC too.

From start to finish our experience with Michelle was great. This was our first experience renting and she was patient and helpful as we negotiated the process. Her unit was just what we wanted and served our needs exactly. Her husband was very gracious and helpful in loading and unloading the trailer at pickup and drop off as well. Hope to rent from them again soon!!
