This is the van you've been looking for! The Modvans CV1/M is based on a Ford Transit chassis, and it's modular so it can be adapted to your needs. Seats up to 7, or seats can be removed depending on the size of your party to make more room inside. Two sleeping areas accommodate 4 adults total: the pop-top is 48x80 inches, and the "downstairs" bed is 48x72. Both are comfy memory foam with bedding (blankets, pillows & fresh sheets) provided. Like the seats, we can remove either bed if not needed, upon request. To keep the kiddos entertained, a TV is mounted behind the front seats and folds away when not in use. The on-board battery runs the fridge, heater or AC comfortably while the van is off. There's an outdoor shower with hot & cold water & a privacy curtain. A former thru-hiker of the Appalachian Trail, and (most of) the Pacific Crest, and occasional peak-bagger, my adventuring took on a different format when we had our 2 kids, and 2 furry friends as well. Weekending and road trip vacations became the best way to introduce our family to the wide world and all the astonishing places in it. We started renting camper vans on Outdoorsy and were hooked by the freedom and comfort a roving home base could provide. Our favorite trips have been Yosemite and Sun Valley, but anywhere we can go together in the van is an occasion!

Coming from Europe for a big 45-day road trip, it was not easy for us to find a vehicle that met our expectations.
Matt offered us his van, which was a little different from our campervan in France. It corresponded to what we were looking for, although it exceeded our budget.
For foreigners, expect 3% additional bank fees.
We took possession of the van in Salt Lake City. Sarah kindly explained how the vehicle works and we left delighted to tour 15 National Parks.
The superb personalized paint job of the van quickly made us want to give it a little name: Chameleon, it suits it very well.
We took advantage of the top bed as well as the bottom bed when the weather was cold or windy.
The accessories for meals (dinette, microwave, kettle and induction hob) or the toilet (Dry Flush toilet, shower) are sufficient. We just added a toaster for our gourmet mornings.
Small tables can be placed in several places and the curtains protect from the cold.
Caméléon drives well and is very pleasant to drive, the GPS helped us a lot to reach our destinations, important for us foreigners.
Towards the end of the trip we had an electrical failure. Matt did everything possible to help us. As the weather was very nice, the sun was enough to recharge the batteries during the day, so we were able to finish the planned circuit despite everything. The trip turned into an Adventure to conquer the American West almost like the first pioneers!
A discovery of a magnificent part of this great country, we saw a thousand and one wonderful things, animals, extraordinary geological structures, Route 66, Las Vegas, park campsites, BLM, etc ...
Our memories are linked to our valiant Caméléon who took us everywhere we wanted, it's great.

Matt had everything in working order on this campervan and we had no problems. The pop top bed is wonderful, and the heater kept us toasty warm the whole time through the cold weather. Matt and Sarah were great hosts and a pleasure to work with.

Matt and Sarah were fantastic hosts and the van was equally amazing. This was our first time in a camper/RV and traveling to the areas we explored. From pre-trip communication and preparation to check-ins during the trip they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and having fun. The van was great for our family of four - two kids under 10 - and we were comfortable even when the temperature dropped below freezing at night. It was easy to drive and travel in and was the envy of other people in the two national park campgrounds where we stayed. We would highly recommend both the van and hosts to anyone who is new or experienced with camper van travel and exploration.
Matt’s answer
Thanks for your kind words Eric, and glad you guys had such a good time. It was wonderful meeting you and your lovely family!

The van was perfect - surprisingly fuel efficient, comfortable, great amenities. It was below freezing overnight but we didnt feel it because the heater worked perfectly. The van fit 4 people comfortably. We made good use of the microwave and induction stovetop. It was a comfortable and fun weekend.
Matt and Sara are so friendly and easy to reach. They gave us a detailed tour of the van before we left. They checked in with us during the trip to make sure we didnt have any questions.
We would definitely rent from them again
