Discover Brooklyn RV rentals for memorable road trips
Once known as the go-to vacation spot for Detroit’s most affluent citizens, Brooklyn is a small village in southern Michigan. Brooklyn was once named Swainsville after Calvin Swain founded it in 1832; the name was later changed and named after Brooklyn in New York.
Brooklyn still remains a lush paradise with rolling green hills in a scenic countryside. The area is dotted with quaint cottages, small lakes, pristine forests, and small historically significant homes and buildings. Even the town center has its own charm, blending 19th-century antiquity with modern-day aesthetics. When you book an RV in Brooklyn, you will notice the massive street art murals adorning the walls of Brooklyn’s buildings, a project undertaken to beautify the village while giving it character. Michigan’s capital city, Lansing, is about an hour's drive north, and the state’s largest city, Detroit, is located about an hour's drive east of Brooklyn. You can bring your Brooklyn RV rental just about anywhere you please, as it affords you the flexibility and mobility to customize the trip of your dreams.

The recreation area is linked together with its neighbor, Pinckney Recreation Area by way of the Waterloo-Pinckney Trail, a 36-mile hiking path that cuts through the serene woods. You can hike, bike, ride horses, canoe, kayak, go fishing, swim, or camp along one of several small bodies of water with your Brooklyn motorhome rental when you visit either one of these popular recreation spots. If you head east towards Detroit, you can visit Michigan’s only state park along the shores of Lake Erie. William C. Sterling State Park is a magnificent spot to spend the dog days of summer while cooling off in the refreshing waters of Lake Erie. White sand beaches make for great picnics, cookouts, campfires, sandcastles, beachcombing, and sun tanning, and you can go hiking or biking throughout the lakeside park.

City Attractions

The murals adorning the buildings along the main street make for some exciting strolls through the downtown area, and photographing these works of art are part of the fun. There are some awesome restaurants, cafes, and boutiques lining the main roads in town, as well as some wineries where you can sample locally produced wines in this active wine-making region. In the nearby city of Jackson, the seat for Jackson County, you can find other landmarks or points of interest to occupy your time. The Ella Sharp Museum is a fabulous place to learn about Jackson County history from informed guides. This gem is known for its incredible art, its wealth of historical resources, antique artifacts, and a planetarium where you can learn about the solar system and beyond. The most well-known attraction near Brooklyn would have to be the Michigan International Speedway, a two-mile racing circuit situated on 1,400 acres of land. The stadium can seat over 50,000 racing fans, and frequently holds NASCAR racing events throughout the season. Additionally, several racing schools are known to operate in this racing-crazy area.
This was me and my families first road trip in an RV and we traveled from Michigan to Alabama and back. We absolutely loved it. The RV was perfect and exactly what we needed. The bed was the most comfortable part. The host Tim was beyond helpful and took my calls and texts anytime I needed to ask him questions. 10 out of 10 experience!
Pickup/drop off was fast and easy. The RV was as easy to handle as described, and got great mileage. It was the perfect home away from home for our family of 4 plus dog. Every feature worked, plenty of storage room inside and in the back cargo. The only thing I would add is a folding table for the tabletop grill. We stayed 2 nights ant a primitive campsite without hookups, but we could easily have done a 5-6 night stay. Host is very helpful and super communicative. Can’t wait to rent again!
