2019 HIKER Mid Range Offroad
Take on northern Arizona and the surrounding area in this cozy and light Hiker trailer built for exploration! Featured in Outdoor magazine, we fell in love with the Hiker product and ethos and have enjoyed every mile. Now, we want you to share in that experience!Hiker is a light but roomy tow-able base for your outdoor adventures including the greater Flagstaff region, Grand Canyon National Park, the Red Rock country of Sedona, or wherever your compass might point. Towing is a breeze, hardly noticeable behind your vehicle and comparatively easy to move in and out of campsites. This trailer comes stocked with the essential tools for high country camping, and very comfortably fits two adults on a Tulo Twin XL foam mattress (not quite queen sized, but larger than a standard twin). Depending on your tolerance for sharing space, you can squeeze a baby or toddler in as well. We're quite adept at family camping ourselves, and are happy to provide the pointers and tips you might need to take a young family on the road. Ask us about tent options if you're looking to accommodate more!Onboard solar powers your every day device needs, with USB and 12V service available in the cabin. Hook up to shore side power while in developed sites, and an inverter is available for limited 110V service in the field. This trailer is perfect for high country summers and desert winters. A ceiling mounted Maxx Fan with climate control functions helps draw out the day's heat, and will rapidly cool the cabin to evening air temperatures during our sublime summer nights! As for outdoor living, spread out the Batwing 270 degree awning with side walls and enjoy expansive shelter from sun, wind and rain. There's something special about a monsoon downpour under the canvas! There's plenty of room to spread out table and chairs, hang the lanterns and absorb tranquility in the pines!Feel free to get in touch with specific inquiries, and don't hesitate to ask about flexible arrangements! What's included• Propane stove
• Sauce pan, cauldron and skillet
• Kitchen and dining utensils
• Plates and bowls
• Kettle and mugs
• Wine glasses and tumblers
• Bottle and can openers
• ... all the kitchen basics
•
• Sink system
• 5 gal water tank (portable)
•
• 3 season bedding and pillows (you'll want to make your own arrangement for cold weather sleeping, depending on the forecast)
•
• Camp chairs
• Camp table
• Camp tools (hatchet, mallet, stakes etc)
• Battery powered lanternsRecommendationsNorthern Arizona is of course an outdoor gem. If you want a really special Grand Canyon experience, head to the North Rim via Lees Ferry and Jacob lake. It's quite a bit further out of the way, but the high altitude and far sparser crowds, not to mention the unparalleled lodge and grounds make the North Room a truly magical experience. There are too many places to mention; feel free to give us an idea of what you're chasing and we can point you in the right direction!Other things to noteNo smoking in or around the trailer (please pay attention to fire restrictions). No pets in the trailer. It's not a great idea to eat in the trailer, and we generally do not stock open food containers on board. Be bear-aware even in Northern Arizona, and always dispose of scraps and crumbs safely.

10 out of 10, would recommend. The camper was awesome! Alex was fantastic. He made sure that we were prepared before we got there. We will definitely rent again.

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
We're quite flexible; I'm happy to deliver to predetermined sites, but you are responsible for reservations and fees. If you want me to use my extensive experience in the area and locate a dispersed site near your destination I am happy to do so and would enjoy helping you on your adventure!
Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
Towing the Hiker is comparatively simple, but still requires some skill and know-how. The trailer has electronic breaks managed by an onboard system, but always remember to leave extra stopping distance in front of you; early breaking pays. Though it's small and light, gentle acceleration is most efficient. Remember there's a lot more vehicle behind you, especially when merging, and take turns slowly and wide. Practice maneuvering in an empty lot before attempting to back into a campsite.
Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
12V service and USB is available in various locations, just switch the master switch in the utility box to "on." The utility box has a 3 prong outlet for shoreside, simply run an extension cord to the shortside supply. For 110V on-board service, see the provided instruction checklist. This should be used in a very limited fashion.
Q.What do I do if I run a flat?
A.
See the included checklist. The trailer includes a full size spare, jack and breaker bar for tire service. Do not use the stability jacks located aft of the trailer; these are designed to stabilize not lift the trailer.
If you're within 60 miles of the home base, I'm happy to ride out and assist if you're in trouble.
