LaVANder Lou was my quarantine project! I have a dream to take this baby across the country but need to fund that project somehow! The build was all done myself, and there are still some projects I want to add to it! I have plans to build a sink and get some solar power to get the van some electricity.
Currently, the build includes; a bed, a counter/cabinet, seat and a retractable table. In its current state, Lou is ready for some fun weekend adventures, but the dream is to use the money made from renting it out to fund the projects that will make it even more functional!
The bucket seats up front are super comfortable and perfect for long drives. There is plenty of storage in the van. I have two portable water containers that will allow you to have plenty of fresh water on your trip. The whole van is insulated but might get a little cold in the winter months up here in New England. Easy to drive, the back-up camera makes handling this big van super easy!
One thing to note is the bed is not a standard length. I am 5'3 and I fit super easy but my taller friends might find the bed to be a little cramped. What's includedVan will always include:
2 camper chairs, cookware, utensils, plates, bowls, camp stove, extra fuel for camp stove, first aid kit, 2 portable water jugs (can be filled prior to departure if requested), camp hammock, bluetooth speaker, AUX cord, standard android and iphone chargers
Van can include:
Water Fun Kit - Inflatable SUP with paddle and pump + 4 inner tube/floatsRecommendationsThe Kancamagus Highway and the White Mountains are only a 2 hour drive from the van's pickup spot. Lake Winnipesauke is even closer than that! And both those locations are accessed just by heading North! If you head East, you will find the ocean in just about 20 minutes or so. We are only 5 minutes from the Maine border. So you can take the van right up the Maine Coast and explore Portland, Kennebunkport, even Bar Harbor if you want!
Heading South, Boston is just about an hour away. The Cape, depending on where on it, is about a 2-3 hour drive. Any New England vacation you can dream of can be found from the comfort of our van!Other things to noteThis van build is pretty humble. Perfect for a weekend trip or for those who aren't looking for a tricked out Sprinter van. It is meant to be used to have fun! Bring your pets, your friends, anyone who fits. Perfect for camping at festivals and concerts. Just clean up after yourself please!
As the keychain on the van keys says "Stay Groovy or Leave, Man".

I rented LaVANder Lou for two weeks of visiting friends and family throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Alex was a prompt communicator, friendly, and very helpful. The van was clean, and well outfitted for either primitive camping or just parking in mom’s backyard.
