2021 TAXA TAXA Trailer
Our Tiger Moth is a bomb diggity lightweight travel trailer comfortably sleeping two inside and up to three up top in the Thule Tepui Explorer Autana 3-person roof top tent (RTT). This rig is ready for off-road adventuring outside of traditional campsites with a 14-inch ground clearance and a small body that can fit nicely in between the trees on forest service roads. We have used this for just two and included kayaks on top, or we've taken our two teen/tween kids with them inside and us in the RTT.This unit features a slide-out kitchen in the rear includes a two-burner propane cooktop that is water-serviced by a 5-gallon Nato can from above and is well-covered by the Thule awning above. The interior offers a convertible seating/table area that folds out to nearly a queen-sized bed (80x54) with significant interior storage available underneath. The front exterior includes a protected built-in tool box and space between it and the unit for a 12v fridge or chairs, firewood - really whatever you want to pack in for your excursion. In addition to the 5-gal Nato can, we include two 5-gallon collapsible water containers for your convenience. At a dry weight of 1,350 lbs. (2,200 lbs. Gvwr), the Tiger Moth can be pulled by nearly all vehicles with towing capabilities, whether 4- or 6-cylinder, while the off-road suspension/tires allow you to go farther from the developed world. The RTT sets up in minutes and allows for tons of fresh air flow and open windows to the night sky (unless you need the included rain tarp). The rear awning provides added shade and comfort while cooking, and bug nets are included for both the rig and the RTT.We have spent up to a full 8 days off grid with this little beast that was only supplemented with a couple stops in towns for quick showers or restocking our groceries (i.e., beer). The Tiger Moth has kept us warm even as temps dropped into the high teens, while the numerous windows provide for significant breeze to keep the unit cool on higher desert plains. It has been used at >12,000ft for alpine camping at Cumberland Pass and down to lower elevations in the high plains deserts of Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. We hope the Tiger Moth helps you find your own love of off-grid exploring! What's included4x camping chairs, kitchenware for 4 adults, 3x 5-gal water containers, outdoor mat, 45L RTIC cooler, and fold-out kitchen/prep table with off-grid sink. RecommendationsWe highly recommend dispersed camping on national forest land, BLM land or finding local state parks with small trailer or tent sites (non-hike in). The Moth has stayed at/around Moab/Arches National Park; various state parks throughout WY, NM and CO; Crested Butte; Telluride; Gateway, CO; and even just for quick overnights in the forests near our backyard of Boulder! It has been an amazing experience every time made better with the Moth!
Other things to notePets allowed on a case-by-case basis (please send us a message if you have any questions or wish to discuss).
Colorado allows for the smoking of marijuana, but our Moth and RTT do not enjoy getting high unless it's up the mountain. Please do not smoke anything (including cigarettes/cigars) inside the unit or tent.
The trailer hitch fits on any standard 2" ball hitch. The trailer also requires a 7-pin electrical trailer connector.
The Tiger Moth is capable of off-roading, but we request that it does not partake in heavy rock-crawling trails that require a lifted 4WD vehicle.

We are a family of 4 in the Boulder/Denver area who have a passion for the outdoors! Depending on the season you can find us skiing, hiking, camping, kayaking, paddle boarding, biking, etc. throughout our great home state of Colorado as well as the broader Intermountain West.
