Great RV to sleep in, and we had a great camping trip. It was very easy to pick up and drop off.

Hi there! We enjoyed our experience exploring the area of San Francisco to Yosemite National Park with the Medium Van from Wandervans. I chatted a few time back and forth with Tommy who was really helpful and great to deal with. We arrived by plain so we didn't have any camping goods with us. We added the bedding kit, shower kit (which works great for showering outside), portable toilet, and a stove. The only reason why I gave 4.5 / 5 is because the stove was hard to make it work properly, but the team from Wandervans apologies and accommodate for that. I want to say that the bed mattress is really good. We found ourselves sleeping for 9+ hours. The Ford Transit is really cheap on gas and easy to drive which is great. I highly recommend Wandervans for your next trip and I would do so if I'm planning to get back to California. Cheers!

My family of 5 had a great experience traveling around Northern California for a week with Wandervans. They made the reservation process super easy and were available with any questions we had. The add-ons were great and super helpful for us coming from out of state. The large van was the perfect size with 3 kids – big enough for us to fit comfortably yet smaller than a traditional RV to allow us more ease while traveling. I would defiantly use them again in the future and many friends have reached out to me about how great our trip looked.

Great support, answering questions and communicating through the process was great. The fully stocked kitchen kit and bug screen on the side door were great new additions from previous years renting from Wandervans.

The van was in need of repair and near end of life. It smelled a bit swampy inside when I picked it up. The next day as I was loading it I realized the side door had damage and was hard to open and close, both the handle sticks and the door doesn't slide smoothly. The key fob buttons to unlock or lock the doors remotely did not work. Perhaps just needed a battery replacement in the key, but made it a pain to lock and unlock each door manually because the vans lock/unlock buttons also did not work reliably. Lastly, we paid extra to get the van with a fan and heater unit so out 11 month old baby could nap in there during the day and not get too cold sleeping there at night. The unit broke on the second day - just wouldn't turn on after we had it working the day before! The van was fully powered, plugged into an outlet, but still the fan (and heater) would not operate again for the rest of the trip. The baby did not nap well in the hot van, which made the trip less fun for me and my wife. This van needs to be retired. Customer service leading up to the trip was great.

It sounds like you had a bad experience during your travels.
We pride ourselves on customer service and it seems we fell short, so I will address each issue seperately.Van end of life: Simply not true, it runs great and our service intervals have been consistently better than Ford's recommendations. However, some of your other feedback is appreciated!Swampy Smell: I apologize for this report. We had just done a scheduled upholestry cleaning and that must have been the smell you are referring to! We have changed our procedures since your feedback to allow more time in between upholestry cleaning and reservations. Thank you for this opportunity to improve!Van Door: The van door was damaged in a parking lot just prior and had a cosmetic dent. We didn't want to cancel your trip for it, but it has since been fixed. We took it to Ford for your report of the handle sticking, and they said there is nothing wrong with it.Key FOB: The battery had died on your key FOB during the trip or right before your pick up. If we had known we would have provided the spare. We were not informed during pick up when we gave you the key, which leads me to think the battery died during your trip. This is a huge inconvenience to you and I apologize, I only recommend letting us know next time so we can take care of it immediately! The vans interior button locks work perfectly, I think that you were confused by their function (need to press unlock twice to unlock all doors).Heater: This is not true. The listing CLEARLY states that it does not have a furnace heater and that a portable one can be provided upon request. Unfortunately you did not reserve a Wandervans heated van. In regards to the fan, we checked it prior and immediately after and it worked both times. My thought is that you guys didn't turn on the breaker (Which is indicated in our laminated quick guides). A simple phone call and we would have loved to help you out.
