The Absolute Best RV Jokes. Period.

Humor is a fickle beast. When it comes to laughs shared around the tailgate of a mobile home, they tend to draw from stories of mishaps and “oh, no, did it reallys?” of yesteryear. Flat-tires in unfortunate places, discovering your rig was 11 foot 4 inches tall by encountering an 11-foot 3-inch underpass. Stories of the time someone burned something foul in the kitchen or spent two hours getting the rig level enough to sleep in, only to notice everyone had rolled to one side of their bed.

The old saying, “you can laugh at anything you can walk away from” very much applies to the life of an RV owner. It is also said that the happiest among us should be able to find good humor in any situation. As in: paint your own silver lining to the darkest clouds, even if the heavens open above you and soak your campsite through and through. Being able to roll with the punches is very much a part of owning and traveling in an RV, so why not look for some humor inside the madness?

When I set down to do a collection of the best RV jokes and puns out there, I came across a very uncomforting truth. There is no such thing as “The Best RV Jokes” in the same way there is no “best joke” or “sunniest day” or “most comforting chili.” Everything is relative. However, when it comes to RV humor, every joke, pun, quip, and humorous observation belongs, by default, in a frequently-visited, rarely-appreciated, often-groaned upon a corner of comedy known as “The Dad Joke.”

Within the cross-section of Dad Humor humor, you have two available subcategories. Lightbulbs, and the kind of humor reserved for bumper stickers and cross-stitched pillows.

Before you read on and arm yourself with the finest humor the campsite has to offer, just remember you likely have 500 miles to drive tomorrow. Your execution of the humor below could be the difference of those 500 miles flying by easily or if you are asked, politely, to get out and endure the rest of your road trip on foot.

First off the lightbulbs:

“How many RVers does it take to change a light bulb?”

“Only one… the others are dealing with their grey water issues.”

There is something to be said for toilet humor. This joke doesn’t even make that far of a stretch. Additionally, the expanse of laughable RV maintenance issues is so slim, it can be summed up with just one lightbulb joke.

On to the bumper stickers.

Of what I’ve seen:

RV Having Fun Yet?

Get it? RV? Are We?

Sorry For What I Said While I was Trying to Park the Camper.
Because geometry is hard. Backward geometry is harder.

God gave us shins so we could find the trailer hitch in the dark.

Again, funny after the fact.

The best part about living in an RV? It’s harder for relatives to drop in for a visit.

They say every joke has a grain of truth. This one is more of a boulder.

An RV is the best investment you can make in wheel estate!

Slay me, slay me now!

If you tailgate, we will flush!

Surprisingly (not surprisingly?) this joke was submitted by the members of Dave Matthew’s Band

Full-Time RVers never die! They just smell that way!

Again, greywater is no laughing matter

RVers don’t have lawn decorations, they have Mobile Gnomes

If you have enough space on your throw pillow, you can extend the joke to how said gnomes are haunted/cursed.

Why is the RV so obedient? Because it goes where it’s towed to!

I had to read this one three times, once aloud, to get it. Your four-year-old will love it.

My other car is my house

This one must be accompanied by a little picture of a trailer or else people might assume you live in a station wagon. Which is also fine.

What happens in the camper stays in the camper!

Unless, you know, THAT happens. In which case, you might be due for a flush on someone who is following too closely.

Share these with caution. No joke is worth driving off the road for.

Not sure if you get the joke? A weekend out in an RV should set you straight. Fortunately, you can rent one for yourself over at Outdoorsy.
